Something New in the Kitchen

Let me start this post by saying, a cook I am NOT!  Recently I was at a friend's home and she served crock pot cheese fondue with french bread.  I was blown away!  I loved it every bit as much as the yummy fondue at my favorite, The Melting Pot.  Of course I asked for the recipe which she immediately sent me in an email and there it sat.  I've looked at this email countless times and thought.. "I can't cook, I'll probably burn it."  As it turns out this is Nici proof and I even put my own spin on it.  WOOT!  You have to try it.

1 8oz brick of cream cheese
1 can cheddar cheese soup
8 oz. French onion dip
1 c. Your favorite beer

Throw it all in the crock pot on low and stir often so it doesn't scorch.  I love to dip french bread and granny smith apples so that is what I cut up today but really you could put this on anything and it would be amazing.  Enjoy!

If you try this out please leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Friday Musical Interlude

Each Friday on my team at work we play a song to get us going and fired up.  I call it the "Friday Musical Interlude."  I thought I would share it with everyone today.

There is something so powerful about this song.  It is amazing to think that every single day I get the opportunity to make a difference in someone's life.  We all do.  Don't waste it.

Detroit: My home sweet home

Anyone who knows me for only a minute or two knows and feels my passion for the city of Detroit.  This banner sums things up pretty well.  There IS opportunity in Detroit.  It amazes me to look out into the beautiful Campus Martius park at any time of year and see it buzzing with people.  Who says that Detroit is dead?  Have you been here lately!  The Broderick Tower is open and full, Buffalo Wild Wings takes flight soon, and the ice rink just got put together for the winter.. there are a TON of things happening in The D.  I love to call this place my home and I love even more that through the amazing company that I work for I can be part of the rebirth.  So I say, CHEERS to the Motor City!

Fall of the Gnome

Probably the last nice day of the year.  While cleaning up the yard and closing things up for the winter I stumbled across this guy smiling at me.  Missing spring already.. Hurry back!
